Wild Paths (Careers in Conservation) with Sandhya Sekar
Love nature and wondering how to turn your passion into a meaningful career? We invite you to join this interactive webinar series designed for high school and college students to explore diverse, real-world pathways in nature conservation. Each session features inspiring professionals across various conservation fields sharing their personal journeys and learnings followed by a live, interactive Q&A with the audience.
About the speaker: Sandhya Sekar is Programme Director at Mongabay-India, a multilingual environmental newsroom covering wildlife, conservation, climate change, and communities across India. Trained as an ecologist, she moved from academic research into science communication and journalism, and has spent over a decade helping tell stories about nature and the environment. She helped launch Mongabay-India in 2017 and has been part of building it from a two-person team into one of India’s leading environmental news platforms. Her work sits at the intersection of science, storytelling, and public engagement, with a particular interest in how complex environmental issues can be made accessible, relevant, and engaging for diverse audiences. When she’s not thinking about wildlife, climate, and conservation stories, she’s probably baking bread of some kind—or trying to explain storytelling using pizza.
