Nyukmadung Village lies high in the mountains of West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh — about 18 km from Dirang town. Home to the warm and cheerful Monpa community, the village rests between 2,010 to 4,500 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush temperate forests, tall conifers, and alpine meadows. Because of these changing heights and habitats, Nyukmadung is blessed with a rich variety of plants and animals.

In this peaceful village, there is one small primary school with about 10 to 12  children. Most of them have not yet had the chance to explore the magical world of biodiversity that surrounds them every day. Henceforth, a two-day nature event will be held — full of games, fun, and outdoor adventures!

Day 1 – November 1, 2025: “Meet the Birds Around You”

The first day will be all about discovering birds through play. Children will take part in interactive games and activities that help them notice the birds living close to their homes and school. The goal is simple — to help them see and feel that their village is alive with many different kinds of birds.

Day 2 – November 2, 2025: “Walk with the Birds”

On the second day, the children will step outdoors for a bird walk and spot the birds, learn their names.
