Wings of Chandbagh – A Bird Walk
Each November, children across India take part in Young Birders’ Month, a nationwide celebration that brings together environmental organisations, nature educators, schools, and local groups to awaken curiosity, joy and ecological awareness in young people through the world of birds. The Doon School is delighted to be part of this movement again this year, in collaboration with eBird India and the Titli Trust. As part of the celebration, The Nest Society of The Doon School warmly invites your students to “Wings of Chandbagh: A Bird Walk” on Sunday, 1st November 2026, at 7:30 AM, on our campus in Dehradun. Chandbagh’s old trees, open fields, and quiet corners are home to many resident birds, and in the early days of November they also welcome winter visitors arriving from distant lands. On a guided morning walk, participants will learn to look and listen closely: to recognise a bird by its song, its flight or a flash of colour among the leaves, and to understand the role each species plays in the life of a landscape. We hope they leave with sharper eyes and a lasting sense of wonder at the life that surrounds them every day. The walk is open to students aged 8 to 18 years. A maximum of 5 students and 1 accompanying teacher may participate from each school. There is no participation fee. We would be truly delighted to welcome your students to Chandbagh for this celebration of birds, nature, and young people. Kindly confirm your participation by filling in the Google Form by Saturday, 24th October 2026.
