Young Birder’s Month – Purulia Birdwatching is a nature event dedicated to inspiring and engaging young bird lovers in the heart of Purulia’s wilderness.

Participants will explore the diverse habitats of Purulia, learn field identification techniques, and enjoy watching iconic species like the Rock Eagle-Owl, Babblers, and barbets. It’s an opportunity to connect with nature, improve birding skills, and share the joy of birdwatching with fellow enthusiasts.

Open to all age groups – beginners and experienced birders alike.

The program offers guided birdwatching sessions in the scenic Ajodhya Hills, led by experienced naturalist and birding guide Subhra Pakhira (WildWalk.in).

Fee and stay: The participation fee includes accommodation and meals, at ₹1500 per person per day. The fee also includes daily guided bird walks – one full session each day. Travel to and from the resort will be at the participant’s own expense. Participants may choose to join for one, two, or all three days as per their convenience.

About the event host: I am a professional birding and wildlife guide, also arrange nature tours across different regions of India including North East states, districts of West Bengal like Darjeeling, Kalimpong with a special focus on Purulia.
I have expertise in bird habitat, bird call, identification, bird photography. I also work as Research Associate, Field Guide for bird and wildlife census done by various government and non government organisations.
