Young Explorers Birdwatch
This exciting outdoor session is organized in collaboration with Early Bird as part of Young Birders’ Month. Tailored for children aged 11-15 years, this event invites young participants to connect with the natural world through hands-on birdwatching, creative journaling, and interactive learning. During the session, children will:
- Discover the fascinating world of birds through engaging flashcards and colorful visual posters that introduce them to different species, plumage patterns, bird calls, and behaviors.
- Head outdoors with binoculars to observe local birdlife in their natural habitats — guided by experienced birders who will share tips on spotting, identifying, and appreciating birds respectfully.
- Create their own nature journals, learning how to record their field observations, sketch birds from life, and reflect creatively on their experiences in nature.
Participation Guidelines
-
- Wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring a water bottle (and binoculars if available)
- Each child must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/teacher throughout the session.
